At Be Strong, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to feel strong, confident, and in control of their wellbeing — no matter where they’re starting from.

Be Strong Together is our not-for-profit promise to make movement, motivation, and wellbeing freely available to everyone. It’s about removing barriers, creating opportunities, and showing that small steps really can lead to big changes.

We’ve developed ten free initiatives designed to help you move more, eat well, and feel great — at your own pace and in your own way. From our friendly Run Club and free memberships for new mums, to video blogs, low-impact and equipment-free workouts, healthy recipes, programs, challenges, and practical tools — everything we offer is made to help you succeed.

You don’t need to be fit to start — you just need to start.
And with Be Strong Together, you’ll never have to do it alone.

1. Be Strong Run Club

Free. Friendly. For everyone who loves to run.

The Be Strong Run Club is completely free to join — just turn up and run with us.

There’s no sign-up, no pressure, and no competition.

All you need is the ability to run around 3 miles (5K) — it doesn’t matter how fast you go or how often you come.

We’re a fun, friendly, and incredibly supportive group that runs for fitness, friendship, and that unbeatable post-run feeling.

Whether you’re running to get fitter, feel better, or simply enjoy the company of others, you’ll be made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

When Rick Wilson, Co-Founder of Be Strong, launched a free Couch to 5K community, something incredible happened — hundreds of people showed up, week after week, ready to change their lives. What began as a simple idea grew into a movement, with more than 600 runners joining each session.

Rick’s dedication to helping others take that first step earned him a British Citizen Award — but he didn’t stop there.

He’s now brought that same energy, encouragement, and real-life coaching to a free 9-week virtual Couch to 5K programme, designed to help you get started, stay motivated, and build healthy habits that last.

Each week, you’ll train alongside Rick as he guides you through your runs, sharing practical tips on fitness, mindset, and making better lifestyle choices along the way.

Simply download each session to your smartphone, or stream live if you’ve got a strong signal — then pop in your earphones, press play, and let Rick’s voice keep you moving forward.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one voice believing in you — and one run to change everything.

8. Free Publications

There is so much value in the actual act of recording what you eat. It’s a behaviour that truly takes seconds to minutes a day to do, but each time you pull out your app or diary, you remind yourself of your healthy living goals and strategies.

This 2-week habit coaching program encourages you to record what you eat and explains how to use the information to help inform any future dietary changes.

Each recipe has a breakdown of calories, protein, carb and fat content and there’s even a barcode to scan into MyFitness Pal to make food tracking a breeze!

Helping you to get completely organised, the pack also includes a weekly meal planner. You can print this off and use it time and time again.

It is important that children understand that our weight corresponds to the food that we eat and the amount and frequency of exercise that we take part in.

As long as there is no pre-occupation with weight, and no negativity associated with food or exercise, then this shouldn’t descend into any unhealthy behaviours.
