Covid-19 Contingency Schedule for Be Strong Groups

Meeting Every Tuesday and Wednesday at Be Strong HQ

Following government guidance, and our own risk assessment, the Mindset and Move sessions will be held outdoors. This will massively assist with social distancing and ventilation. It will also negate the need for you to wear face masks. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

5pm to 6:30pm – Weigh and Go

Ideal if you’re in a rush and can’t stay!

6:30pm to 7:10pm – Weigh and Mindset

Including ‘The Wall’ and ‘Masterminds’ – brilliant new format!

Note: The last weigh time is 6:55pm although we will always be able to weigh again at the end of the HIIT session at 7:55pm.

7:10pm to 7:40pm – HIIT Session

The music will be pumping and the atmosphere will be electric! Suitable for a wide range of abilities – we will make this fun!

NOTE: If you are attending just for the HIIT please arrive by 7PM

Lots of parking is available on the roads right outside Be Strong HQ. Our car park will be closed to allow space for the session.

METRICS – MINDSET – MOVE

These are the themes of our new meeting format and we are very excited to develop these in the coming months to further enhance the Be Strong experience for our members, and to support you in achieving your targets or goals.

Metrics

It is so important that people trying to lose weight remain accountable, and the best way to achieve this is by attending group each week and standing on the scales.

It’s also a great opportunity to chat to the team, seek help, advice or clarification and stay connected with the amazing Be Strong community.

After you have weighed you can post something on ‘The Wall’, anonymously submit a question to the ‘Masterminds’, collect your weekly discussion topic infographic or chat to other members until its time for the Mindset session to start.

Mindset

Many people attribute any type of success with a change in mindset, and we’ve always taken immense pride in our achievements in this area. That’s one of the major reasons we are supported in a partnership with psychologists from Liverpool John Moores and Leeds Universities.

In this session we will always focus on a weekly discussion topic. We will also recognise your health and activity successes, along with improvements to your knowledge, routine, nutrition, approach, methods and the accomplishment of your short and long term goals. It will also be complimented with our Masterminds session, where you can anonymously ask a question of the team and put them on the spot!

Move

We have taken the decision to conduct all of our exercise classes outdoors, where we have a large open space. This is to reduce the risk of spreading infection and to ensure we can achieve the correct socially distanced space around each and every participant.

I would love to see more approaches like this rolled out across the UK

Be Strong provides an evidence-based programme that moves away from the “quick fix” mentality and dependency that is unfortunately promoted by many commercial weight loss programmes. I’ve genuinely not come across a programme that is so successful at helping individuals turn their lives around for good.

Why we cannot meet at our normal venues for the time being..

We have been searching for suitable venues since the government  announced that we could introduce a safe return from 25th July 2020. The vast majority of venues are either not suitable, not letting space to groups at the moment or they have no capacity due to long term, established bookings.

This is the new 'normal' for the time being. We're relying on your continued generosity, kindness and loyalty to travel to the new venue even though it may not be as convenient as your usual meeting place was.

PLEASE NOTE

Social distancing precautions have been introduced in relation to Covid-19: -

  • We will record your attendance and telephone contact number to support the track and trace system
  • We will take your temperature using an infra red thermometer. It will not come into contact with your skin
  • A one way system has been introduced with physical separation barriers
  • Hand sanitising stations and hand washing facilities are in place
  • Be Strong crew on the weighing station will maintain a 2 metre distance, wear a face make, or wear a medically approved visor upon request
  • Please do not attend if you are displaying any symptoms of coronavirus
