Rick and Rachel are still extremely hands on with all of their classes and you will find them present at almost every single session. They’re passionate about helping people to be the best they can be and it’s at the groups where they really excel.

At each class you receive accurate nutritional advice that is unique to you,  and will also have the opportunity to weigh and have that weight recorded on your Be Strong weight tracker tool.

Every person is unique, and that’s why the nutrition plan we provide you with is specific to you. Firstly we calculate your BMR, which is short for Basal Metabolic Rate.  To work this out we collect some details from you such as gender, age, height and current weight. Once we have your BMR, we can calculate your total calorie intake required to maintain your current weight. We can then calculate your recommended daily calorie intake to lose weight and provide recommendations on how to split those calories over the day into meal times / snacks. Rick Wilson

There is always a talk, or workshop, where the group learn how to be successful together – particularly about how to ensure that we are prepared for the mental challenges that always seem to be ever present.

Finally, you can opt to take part in an all inclusive cardio session, where we use higher intensity intervals in conjunction with periods of active recovery. All of our exercises are endorsed by the NHS as being suitable for people who have previously been inactive. They’re a great way not only to ease yourself back into exercise, but also to build up a significant level of fitness.

We stage regular challenges and all the different classes meet up each month to go for the Be Strong walk. There is also a Facebook group where lots of mutual support and aid is provided to each other.

Be Strong has classes which meet in Darwen, Clitheroe, Blackburn and Accrington. You can always be assured of a warm welcome and we’re really looking forward to helping you to achieve your goals.
