Christmas Calories…

Eat, drink and be merry!

That’s definitely what most of us do throughout the festive season, whether that’s with our feet up watching Christmas movies, or out celebrating with friends. And why not?  Christmas is a time for enjoying ourselves with our nearest and dearest!

We will definitely be enjoying the festive season, spending some time with our families and loved ones, meeting up with friends eating, drinking and merry making, we will still be making good choices – not all the time, but definitely some of the time. We will both be keeping our activity up too, to try and redress the balance of what we over indulge on.

So if this resonates with you, then read on and find out how you can make some sensible choices this Christmas time. Whether it’s the annual Mad Friday night out, a family Christmas party, works do, or your actual Christmas dinner… it is possible to still have fun without the added calories.  We have come up with some good swaps that still mean you can enjoy yourself but perhaps with a little damage limitation!

Drinky-poos!

As we all know alcohol is loaded with calories, and Christmas and New Year is definitely the time where lots of us over indulge in a beverage or three. But you can still have a good time, and minimise the damage if you make some good swaps.

See our graphic below to find out what your favourite tipple costs your calorie budget.

Tasty treats

We all splurge with our food during the festive season, the shops are full of the most tempting tasty treats, and before we know it, those delectable delicacies have jumped into our trollies, into the kitchen cupboards and then out again and into our mouths.

Whilst we really don’t want to spoil anyone’s enjoyment of this special time, we want you to make informed choices, and if it sways you to make a better choice, then great. Equally if you want to throw caution to the wind and just eat whatever you fancy, then that’s great too, it is Christmas after all!

To help we have worked out the calories in our fave festive food, and what might be a better option, and here it is for you.

Most of all we really do want you to enjoy this special time with your families and friends, and we will see you on the other side! This is our last week of classes for the year.
