Upcoming Walks

We have set the dates for our upcoming walks this week. We hope by doing this, it will give everyone time to get them in their diaries. The walks are a great way to get our members to know each other, online members are also welcome, if you are local to East Lancashire – or even if you are not!

Please bring family and friends along too, everyone is welcome.

April

Our April walk is the Belmont and Winter Hill walk, 28th April 2019, meeting at 10am. Meeting point is The Black Dog at Belmont, Church Street, Belmont, BL7 8AB
A 5 mile walk over moorland, up to the summit of Winter Hill.
All friends and family welcome, along with well behaved dogs.  It may be worth bringing some snacks, as this will probably take us until about 1pm to finish the walk.
Please let us know if you are coming then I can ask permission of the pub to park and I am sure they would welcome us popping in for a drink afterwards.

May

The May walk is our first big event of the year, in conjunction with Blackburn Couch to 5k.
Walking Miles for Milly’s Smiles 12th May 2019 6.30am – 6.30pm.
The event will take place at Witton Park, Preston Old Road, Blackburn, BB2 2TP.
You can walk as many miles around Witton Park as you wish, all to raise awareness and sponsorship (if you wish) for Milly’s Smiles charity.

June

Our June walk is the Holcombe Hill and Peel Tower walk, 9th June 2019, meeting at 10am.

Meeting point is the Shoulder of Mutton Pub, Lumb Carr Road, Holcombe Village, Ramsbottom, BL8 4LZA

It’s a three mile walk, over Holcombe Moor taking in the spectacular views of Lancashire and Greater Manchester from Peel Tower, finishing with a drink/lunch in the Shoulder of Mutton – please book your own table in the pub should you wish to eat – Phone: 01706 822001

Meet at 10 am at the Shoulder of Mutton Car Park, the walk should take no longer than 2 hours.

Friends, family and well behaved dogs welcome.

July

Our July walk is the Wainwright’s Ramble, 14th July 2019, meeting at 10am.

The meeting point is the car park next to Witton Park Arena, Witton Park, Preston Old Road, Blackburn, BB2 2TP.

A 4.5 Mile walk from Witton Park, around the Yellow Hills of Blackburn. It should take about 2 and a half hours.

Meet at 10am at the main Witton Park car park, next to the arena – please bring money for the Pay and Display machine.
