It’s the month of April, and summer is getting ever closer. The weather gets warmer, and we start to remove the layers of clothing, that we have been hiding in all winter. The pressure is on to get rid of the winter layer of fat, and our thoughts turn to summer holidays and beach bodies!
This summer we want you to be happy with your holiday photos, and feel confident on the beach. But summer bodies aren’t made 2 weeks before we jump on the plane, or load the car up for the road trip, they start now! So, the challenge for April is to make a sacrifice.
We all probably know that there is one food, that is doing us damage, and stopping us achieving our goals. If you don’t know what it is – track everything you eat and drink for a week, then look at what you write down, your answer will be there.
For some it might be bread, for others cheese, or it may be chocolate, biscuits or crisps. Whatever it is – that one thing is standing in the way of you achieving your goal – and we want you to give it up!
Sacrificing one thing is manageable – it gives you one thing to focus on. But make sure your sacrifice is a wise one – there is no point giving up cheese if you eat it once in a blue moon.
Benefits of sacrificing one food, and one food only!
- You take control of that food – rather than that food having control of you.
- Whilst it might make you feel uncomfortable, you will not die from removing one food from your diet.
- You will see weight loss – if you currently eat 4 slices of bread a day, at breakfast and lunch, and have some sort of bread as an accompaniment to your evening meal, then you could save yourself, around 600 calories a day! That is your deficit right there! That is 1-2lbs a week.
- Going a whole month without something will boost your self-confidence and self-belief, spurring you on.
- You might find that the food you thought you couldn’t live without, you actually can – and you will continue to do so, especially if you see results.
We are all capable of sacrificing one thing – so let’s try it for April – because if you don’t make any changes, nothing is going to change for you. Give it a go, see if it works for you – tell us what you are going to sacrifice in the comments section for your April Challenge.
