December Challenge

We want you to make a pledge to do something on each day in December!

Don’t wait for Jan 1st to be the best we can be.

We will record your pledge today and contact you again in Jan 2019 to see how you did!

In the spirit of the season we will allow optional rest days on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

I will run for 3 miles a day, every single day in December. I will also do it on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.Rick Wilson

  • CHRISTINE BROWN – I WILL DO AN EXERCISE ROUTINE EVERY DAY – THE AMOUNT OF REPS WILL INCREASE DURING THE MONTH
  • EMMA MIDDLETON – I AM GOING TO DO THE SQUAT CHALLENGE, AS POSTED IN THE GROUP
  • JO BURTONWOOD – I WILL EXERCISE FOR 30 MINS
  • JACKIE ESSERY – PLANKING CHALLENGE AND GIVING UP CHOCOLATE
  • ANDREA ASPDEN – AT LEAST 30 MINS MIXED EXERCISE 4 TIMES A WEEK AND NO ALCOHOL ON WEEKDAYS EXCEPT 31ST DEC. LOG ALL CALORIES TO KEEP WITHIN RECOMMENDED CALORIES
  • LINDSAY WALSH – THIS DECEMBER I PLEDGE TO STICK TO MY CALORIES AND TO MAKE WISE CHOICES WHEN STICKING TO CALORIES IS DIFFICULT (TIS PARTY SEASON AFTER ALL!). TO EXERCISE FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EACH DAY WHETHER THAT BE WALKING, RUNNING, HIIT, OR DANCING. TO FINISH THIS YEAR WITH THE BE STRONG WALK AND ENTER THE NEW YEAR STRONGER, SLIMMER AND PROUDER
  • AMANDA LONG – TO PLANK EVERY SINGLE DAY IN DECEMBER EVEN OVER CHRISTMAS AND TO INCREASE THE TIME EVEN BY A SECOND AND TO HOLD MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE BY POSTING THE TIME
  • FRANCESCA HOLDEN – I WILL INCREASE MY DAILY STEPS TO 10,000. I HAVE SAID I WILL HOLIDAY ON CHRISTMAS DAY BUT MAY ACTUALLY STILL ACHIEVE MY GOAL ON THE DAY
  • JILL COOPER – I WILL WALK A MINIMUM OF 15,000 STEPS A DAY. I WILL ALSO DO CHRISTMAS DAY AND BOXING DAY
  • DIONNE MCKINLAY – MY PLEDGE IS 10,000 STEPS A DAY. CHRISTMAS DAY WILL BE A HALF REST DAY WITH 5,000 STEPS AND THE SAME FOR BOXING DAY
  • JEAN LEYLAND – I WILL WALK FOR HALF AN HOUR EACH DAY
  • KAREN DEWHURST – I WILL RUN FOR AT LEAST A MILE EVERY DAY OF DECEMBER
  • NICOLA MCCUMSKAY – COMPLETE SQUAT CHALLENGE DAILY PLUS COMPLETE HIP STRENGTHENING EXERCISES TO ENSURE THAT MY HIPS AND THIGHS ARE STRONGER FOR THE NEW YEAR AGAIN. I WILL EVEN DO THESE WHILST IN KRAKOW CELEBRATING MY 50TH BIRTHDAY!
  • COLETTE WESTWELL – TO WALK 10000 STEPS A DAY
  • MARK SLOAN – I WILL DO 30 MINUTES OF BRISK EXERCISE (RUNNING, SWIMMING, HIIT, BADMINTON OR SPINNING) EVERY DAY IN DECEMBER INCLUDING CHRISTMAS DAY AND BOXING DAY.
  • JO HOWARD – 10 SQUATS EVERY MORNING AND A PLANK EVERY NIGHT INCREASING THE TIME OVER THE MONTH UP TO 26TH WHEN I GO AWAY
  • PENNI MCGINTY   –  I WILL DO THE SQUAT CHALLENGE AND MATCH THE REPS WITH CRUNCHES TOO.
  • LISA SHORROCK   –  I AM GOING TO DO WALL SITS AND PLANKS EVERY DAY IN DECEMBER
  • CAROLE BAILEY  –   I AM GOING TO DO AT LEAST 1 MILE OF EXERCISE A DAY AS I AM TRIATHLON TRAINING THIS COULD BE SWIMMING, CYCLING OR RUNNING
  • KIRSTY BYRNE   –    I WILL DO THE ABS CHALLENGE AND SQUAT CHALLENGE EVERY DAY IN DECEMBER.
  • LAUREN WEST   –     I PLEDGE TO DO AT LEAST 30 MINS OF EXERCISE EACH DAY, I’M GOING TO TAKE CHRISTMAS DAY AND BOXING DAY AS A HOLIDAY.
  • STEPHANIE CRABTREE  –   I WILL DO SOME FORM OF EXERCISE FOR AT LEAST 6 OUT OF 7 DAYS.
  • SIDLET MAKINSON     –       I WILL RUN AT LEAST 3 MILES EVERY DAY IN DECEMBER.
  • DONNA MAZUR   –   HI. MY DECEMBER’S CHALLENGE IS TO EAT FRESH VEGETABLES WITH EVERY EVENING MEAL, DRINK MORE WATER (LESS BREWS), AND DO AT LEAST 15000 STEP EVERY DAY.
  • LIZ BARNES – BEFORE 7AM EVERY MORNING I WILL DO 5 MINUTES OF HIIT, 30 SQUATS, 1 MINUTE ARM CIRCLES, 1 MINUTE TORSO TWIST, 1 MINUTE CHOPPING LOGS AND A FINISH OF 1 MINUTE RACHEL’S FAVOURITE! (REMINDER SET ON PHONE!)
  • MARIE EASTWOOD     –       “I WILL RUN AT LEAST 1KM EVERY DAY AND DRINK 1 PINT OF WATER BEFORE EACH MEAL. WILL ALSO TRY ON CHRISTMAS AND BOXING DAY, IF NOT RUNNING WILL WALK THESE DAYS”
  • KARA RAYNOR    –   I WILL DRINK 2 LITRES OF WATER AND REACH AT LEAST 10,000 STEPS EVERY DAY
  • ELLE WITHERS     –   “ONE MINUTE PLANK EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT, COMMIT TO EXERCISE EVERY SINGLE DAY EITHER HITT, WALK, RUN, STRENGTH TRAINING.. AND DRINK 4 PINTS OF WATER EVERY DAY “
  • PAUL COTTAM    –    I WILL WALK 2 MILES TO AND FROM WORK EVERYDAY, I WILL RUN 3 MILES AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK
  • KATHRYN DRUMMOND  –  SQUAT CHALLENGE AS FOLLOWS: DAYS 1-7 50 SQUATS DAY, 8-14 70 SQUATS, 15-21 90 SQUATS, 22-28 110 SQUATS, 29-31 130 SQUATS. ALSO NO CHOCOLATE DURING DECEMBER, IF I FAIL THIS ON ANY DAY I WILL MAKE A DONATION TO MILLY’S SMILES.
  • CARLA JENKINSON      –      RUN OR WALK EVERYDAY FOR EITHER 3 MILES OR 25 MINS. I HAVE ADDED THE WALK ELEMENT IN AS I HAVE RECENTLY ENCOUNTERED A BACK INJURY SO NEED TO BE REALISTIC BUT STILL A CHALLENGE.
  • LUCY HARGREAVES HARGREAVES   –   A BIG ONE BUT I NEED THIS…. I AM GOING TO PRE PLAN FOOD EVERYDAY AND COMPLETE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EXERCISE! YIKES!
  • KAREN ALMOND  –  I PLEDGE TO WALK OR RUN FOR 30 MINS A DAY
  • GILL AINSWORTH – I WILL DO THE SQUAT CHALLENGE THROUGHOUT DECEMBER PLUS 1 MINUTE ARM CIRCLES DAILY
