What Happens at a Be Strong Group?
At every meeting there is an opportunity to be weighed, with expert advice, guidance and motivation coming from Rick & Rachel.
BLACKBURN (TUE) AND ACCRINGTON (WED)
At Blackburn and Accrington, there is a group discussion, designed to navigate weight loss barriers, leap over any fitness or lifestyle hurdles. In addition, it focusses each and every one of our members on a specific action for the following week.
(We promise that we would never do the cringeworthy reading out of weights of who did well and who didn’t!)
After that, the session is concluded with the Weekly Knowledge Topic (we’re told these are game changers!) and a handout is provided to take home.
Above all, we like to include everything under one roof, so there is an optional 25-minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class at the end. It’s so much fun, is suited to all abilities and delivered in a really happy and engaging community environment. It also helps to burn fat and will considerably improve your fitness.
accrington – wednesDAY
As an alternative to the HIIT class we offer a 30-minute Wellness Walk at our Accrington group every Wednesday at 7pm. All walking abilities are catered for and it’s a really fun way to clear your mind, meet new people and make friendships.
GREAT HARWOOD – FRIDAY
Every Friday we run an informal drop in to cater for people commuting to work, on the school runs or are free during the day.
Pop in from 7am to get weighed, check in with us, have some ‘you time’ to chat with us and collect the week’s resources. You can also relax with a hot or cold drink – or take it with you if you’re pushed for time!
At 10AM we leave Be Strong HQ for a 1-hour Wellness Walk and we would love you to join us. All walking abilities are catered for and it’s a really fun way to clear your mind, meet new people and make friendships.

Workout of the Week
Our W.O.W’s are a combination of strength, conditioning, core and cardio that can be completed on the spot. Each one lasts for 25 minutes and includes a set of cool down exercises which we recommend that you follow.
Most of our members do these at least once per week and some aim for more. However, we recommend that you start slowly and increase the frequency gradually. They really will make an incredible difference to your overall health and fitness levels.
Step on the scales and record your weight on your own Weight Tracker. You can keep accountable, monitor progress and see your history at a glance in tables and charts.
Weigh every single week to keep watch on the direction that you’re heading in. However, there can be lots of impact factors that can effect the outcome on scales when measured on a week by week basis. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t get the result you expect each week; it may have been outside of your control.
Top tip! Use the first weight record at the beginning of every month to monitor your progress and write that down somewhere prominent like on the fridge or similar.

What do I need to bring to group?
If you’re doing the HIIT class I would come in comfortable sports wear and some warm clothing to wear afterwards, a hoodie should be fine. In addition, you’ll need a pair of trainers and a full drinks bottle. I’d also consider bringing a small towel – it get’s a bit sweaty!
What if I don’t want to do the HIIT class
That’s cool, some of our members go for a walk together instead and others have incredibly busy lives and leave straight after the group discussion. In conclusion, you don’t need to do the HIIT class to be successful with Be Strong.
How long will I have to wait before receiving my programmes?
When you sign into your new account with us, there are some basic questions to answer so we can perform some calculations. Once you’ve answered these, your programmes will be available straight away.
How long will it take for me to lose weight?
