Asparagus and Meatball Orzo

Another Springtime asparagus recipe for you, and this one could not be simpler! Using just 4 ingredients, really quick and comes in under 400 calories, this makes a perfect weekday family tea.

Deliciously creamy and packed with goodness due to the addition of our superfood friend asparagus. I think this will be a winner in every household this springtime.

Asparagus and Meatball Orzo

Super quick, super creamy, perfectly calorie controlled dish!



pack of 12 pork meatballs

260g orzo pasta

large bunch of asparagus , sliced in half lengthways

200g tub half fat crème fraîche

Sprinkle of fresh or dried thyme


  1. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.
  2. Put the meatballs on a tray lined with foil, season and cook for 20 mins until cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, bring a pan of salted water to the boil, add the orzo and cook for 4 mins.
  4. Add the asparagus and simmer for 4 mins more.
  5. Drain, then tip back into the pan along with the meatballs and crème fraîche, mix and season well with black pepper, salt and a sprinkle of thyme.
