Dates in blankets

These make a fabulous alternative to pigs in blankets for a buffet dinner, roast dinner, or a delicious snack and are about a third of the calories. I tweaked the original recipe that was sent in to make it even lower calories.  You have to be careful though, because these are so tasty once you start you might not be able to stop.

Dates are a great source of fibre, vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins, iron, copper and magnesium.  You could make a batch of these then save them in the fridge to have as a nutritious snack over a few days.
